The Astro Max Drone from FREEFLY is a robust and customizable DIU Blue and NDAA-compliant aerial platform that takes advantage of the FREEFLY ecosystem. With support for optional payloads of up to 6.6 lb, the Astro Max can accommodate an array of cameras and sensors that connect to the universal Smart Dovetail connector. Based on how you build it, the Astro Max can easily be an ideal solution for filmmaking, industrial inspection, RTK mapping, and much more. Large Propellers
At 21" in size, the high-efficiency propellers of the Astro Max make up 96% of the total area of the drone. Each one is paired with a custom-designed motor and various control algorithms. The results are fast acceleration, a high degree of stability, improved flight time, and low noise.
Pilot Pro Controller
Included with the Astro Max is the Pilot Pro, a feature-rich and intuitive remote controller with IP68-rated all-weather construction. Designed by pilots, for pilots, you get the controls you need placed in the locations you need them. Various knobs, switches, and buttons control nearly all aspects of the Astro Max, such as drone movement and throttle, gimbal control and recording, emergency functions, and more. Multiple customizable buttons let you add to the existing functionality and tailor the overall experience to your personal preferences. The fold-out 8" Samsung Galaxy Tab Active5 gives you an HD drone's eye view of the action, along with essential telemetry data as you pilot the drone. With this model of Astro Max, your Pilot Pro will work with the Doddle Labs RF transmitter, which is both DIU Blue and NDAA compliant for U.S. government use.
Skynode FC
Internally, the Astro Max is powered by a customized version of the Skynode flight controller, which contains an onboard Linux mission computer and connectivity to LTE networks (North America only) and Auterion Mission Control and Cloud Suite. With Auterion, Astro Max pilots can supply robust, secure, and scalable drone planning with flight and compliance management.
