The straight TSN-88S 88mm PROMINAR Pure Fluorite Spotting Scope from Kowa is a world-class spotter that redefines the standards of color brilliance, sharpness, and brightness. The TSN-88S uses an element of pure fluorite crystal (PFC) glass in its construction, which greatly minimizes chromatic aberration. This ensures maximum efficiency in its light gathering, producing a clear visual range and sharp imagery that traditional glass lenses cannot attain at their highest magnifications and with the strongest of subject/background contrast changes. The housing is made of a magnesium alloy that defines maximum durability and lightweight construction, resulting is a compact, ergonomic, and functional design for extreme nature and outdoor enthusiasts. An eyepiece is not included and sold separately.

Proper functionality of the retractable sunshade is guaranteed exclusively with Kowa brand filters.

Fluorite crystal lenses makes for the ideal lens material with ultra low dispersion properties not possessed by an ordinary optical glass. This outstanding specification adds the featured benefit of a near-completely reduced chromatic aberration, or color blur, to provide users with the ultimate viewing experience.

A dual tripod mounting screw allows the scope to be safely secured to both 1/4 and 3/8" mount.

Kowa's standard eyepiece bayonet mount includes a locking mechanism to prevent the eyepiece from getting lost or falling out unexpectedly. An eyepiece is sold separately.

The magnesium alloy body and barrel is constructed by a sophisticated process called thixotropic molding to give the strength and feel from a traditional metal body but with much lighter weight. The rugged structure can tolerate the severest conditions and deliver the highest level of confidence and security.

Kowa's focus system has progressed to a dual focus system with smooth movement at high magnification for pinpoint accuracy in image display. The quick focus can easily shift from infinity to 16 feet in two revolutions with the large and maneuverable knob. The fine focus moves fluidly to create pinpoint accuracy and is extremely useful at high magnifications and with digiscoping systems.

The housing is waterproof to JIS Protection Class 7 and filled with dry nitrogen gas to prevent internal fogging to ensure images clarity.
